Blunt Wraps Vs. Rolling Papers: What’s the Difference?

There are upwards of a million ways to smoke weed. For those who enjoy the ritual of rolling up and smoking, there are two main options: blunt wraps and rolling papers. And yes, they are different.

Blunt wraps

If you’re unfamiliar with what a blunt wrap is, it’s essentially a cigar wrapper that’s been emptied of tobacco and filled with the cannabis instead. Blunt wraps are typically made from tobacco leaves, which means they contain a bit of nicotine. This can definitely be a downside if you’re trying to quit smoking cigarettes or just don’t want to add nicotine to your life. But that’s kind of the whole point of blunt wraps, as the tobacco leaf adds a unique flavor and aroma to your experience.

Rolling papers

Rolling papers are a completely different story. They’re thin sheets of paper that are designed explicitly for rolling joints (or cigarettes). They’re typically made from materials like rice paper, hemp, or flax, and they do not contain any tobacco, which means no nicotine. Rolling papers come in all different sizes and flavors, and some even have added features like filters or adhesive strips to make it easier for you to roll them.

What are the main differences between blunt wraps and rolling papers?

The most obvious one is the presence of tobacco and nicotine in blunt wraps. Some people enjoy this aspect of blunt wraps since it can affect the taste and the experience of smoking. Rolling papers, on the other hand, are a cleaner option and do not contain any harmful additives.

Another difference is the size and thickness of each of them. Blunt wraps are typically larger and thicker than rolling papers, which means they can hold more cannabis and provide a longer smoking experience. Rolling papers still come in a wide range of sizes that help you choose what’s right for you, but they’re way thinner than your average paper.

What’s the cost difference?

The good news is that both rolling papers and blunt wraps are relatively inexpensive and widely available. Blunt wraps are a bit pricier than rolling papers, coming in at around $5-$10, but they’re still affordable for most people. If you’re trying to budget, go with rolling papers. There are an endless amount of options, and they’re usually priced anywhere from $1-$10.

While choosing between the two will give you completely different experience, they’re both popular in their own right. Many people like the added taste of blunt wraps to elevate their experience, and some enjoy sticking to their tried and true rolling papers. If you’re in a bind, you can always try alternative ways to roll a joint, and you may have a story to tell afterward. Just smoke responsibly, and you’ll be in the clear. And remember, you can always opt for an edible instead.
