How do you make cannabis bacon?
Facts are facts, either you like bacon, or you’re wrong. From donuts to salads, we put that ish on everything. And just when you think bacon can’t get any better, we present to you Cannabacon! That’s right, bacon infused with cannabis that you can easily make at home. Get ready to wake and bacon with these three simple steps.
What you’ll need:
- Ground Weed
- Bacon
- Mason Jar (or some type of heat resistant storage)
Step 1: Decarb your weed
This step is important, so don’t skip it. Decarbing is what activates the THC in your flower and allows your body to absorb it. Don’t worry, it’s easy to do.
We recommend grinding approximately one gram of weed per bacon strip. You’ll want to grind or cut your weed a little finer than you would for a joint, but don’t powderize it. Then spread your flower onto a foil lined cookie sheet. Pop it in a 225 degree fahrenheit oven for 30 to 45 min, or until you notice it turning a little brown. The finer your bud is ground, the faster it will decarb, so keep an eye on it.
Step 2: Bake your bacon
After you remove your weed from the oven, bump the temp up to 275 and prepare a second foil lined cookie sheet. Do not grease the sheet, the bacon will provide all the grease you need. Lay your bacon strips out flat with no overlap.
Next, sprinkle approximately half of the decarbed flower on the top of your bacon strips. You can divide your flower for even dosing, or make some strips more potent than others, it’s all up to you. For easy application, try funneling your flower into a salt shaker. Press the flower gently into the bacon strips with your hands before flipping and repeating with the remaining flower.
Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes, flip strips, and return to oven for another 10-15 minutes or until they reach desired doneness.
Step 3: Store your grease
After removing your bacon from the oven, use a fork or tongs to transfer it a paper towel lined plate.
Since the bacon grease is also medicinally activated, we recommend pouring it into a mason jar or some sort of storage container. Use as a smokey substitution for vegetable oil or butter the next time you’re in the mood to cook with cannabis
